The Isle of Wight Theatres, Ltd was one of the largest operators of cinemas on the Isle of Wight in the mid 20th century.
In 1936 they operated[1]:
- Gaiety, Ventnor,
- Grand, Newport,
- Kings, East Cowes,
- Palace, Freshwater,
- Queen's, Sandown,
- Royalty, Cowes,
- Scala, Ryde,
- Theatre Royal, Ryde.
An official notice dated 1 April 1966 requested creditors to submit claims following the voluntary winding up of The Isle of Wight Theatres Limited[2].
In April 1968, the freehold of the Regent Cinema was going to be put to auction but was sold by private treaty prior to the auction[3].
