The Long Lane Brick Works, was on the corner of the track off Long Lane to Staplers Farm on the Isle of Wight

The brick works is shown on OS maps from 1864 to 1909.

The William White's 1859 Isle of Wight directory has 'Richard Hobbs, brick and tile maker, and lime burner, Long lane, Arreton'.

The 1898 and 1911 Kelly's street directories have Richard's son 'James Hobbs , brick maker, Long lane, Staplers, North Arreton' - James died in 1916, aged 73.
