The current Our Lady & St Wilfrid's Roman Catholic Church, on Trinity Road dates from 2014 and was built on the site of the school hall[1]. The previous Grade II church building, had been seriously damaged by fire in December 2006[2], was subsequently demolished and the area used as an outdoor play area for the school[3].

The previous building dated from 1871 and was designed by Mr. T. Chatfeild Clarke, architect, of London and Wootton, Isle of Wight.[4]
