In April 2012 a memorial was unveiled outside the Seely Hall, opposite the Green, Brook, to the bravery of the lifeboat men of the west-wight. Commissioned by the Brighstone Parish Council as part of the West Wight Landscape Partnership’s Local Heroes project. The memorial comprises a bronze plaque designed by Laura Lian, set into a block of Portland stone by Wight Stonemasonary.
