The Gothic style Wesleyan Chapel, on the corner of Chale Street and Newman Lane was opened 30 October 1888. It was designed by Mr. Curwen of London and built by Mr. John Linington of Chale.[1]

An earlier chapel dating from 1815[2] stands on the other side of Newman Lane. After the larger chapel was opened this earlier chapel was used as a Sunday School and later as a Church Hall.

Both the Chapel and Hall closed in 2003 and are now private residences.
