Winter Gardens, Ventnor
Ventnor Winter Gardens
The current 1937 Winter Gardens art-deco building replaced a previous structure on the site which was demolished in 1935. The building stands above the esplanade with fine views out to the English Channel.
The ground floor was used as a 664 seat theatre and concert hall during the summer season, during the winter it was sometimes used as a ballroom. Originally there was a sun-terrace on the roof, which has subsequently been built over.
The main amenities closed in 2011, today (2019), just a bar and cafe are open.
